November 11, 2009 marks the 60th wedding anniversary for Robert and Lois Farmer.
They met on Dec. 11, 1948 and dated until Nov. 11, 1949, when they each asked their mothers to accompany them to El Reno so they could get married. They asked their little sisters to go and sign as witnesses.
They were married in the Church of Christ by Minister Walker Hembree and spent some time at a garage because of car troubles. After returning to the parents and sisters home, Robert and Lois spent the night at the Baker Hotel in Minco.
Robert was born and reared in Tuttle, has lived his married life in Minco and Union City. Both have retired.
