An up-close look at red-shouldered hawks
Red-shouldered hawks, Buteo lineatus, are medium-sized raptors that can grow up to 19" in length with a wingspan of 3.5-4 feet. Males are a bit smaller than females. Their range encompasses eastern North America and further west into Oklahoma. But there are permanent populations in California, as well.

This week is School Bus Safety Week - - we want to remind all kids to practice safety on the bus. It is always important to listen to the bus driver, always stay seated and keep our hands to ourself. Practicing these rules makes it easier for the bus driver to get us to the school safely.
