Valentine Banquet

set for Feb. 14

Ridgecrest Baptist Church is hosting a Valentines Banquet on Sunday, Feb. 14. All adults are invited to attend. The banquet will be at 6 p.m. Dinner will be catered by Ted’s Escondido. The cost will be $15 per person which includes dinner, drink, dessert, child care and fun and games. You must reserve and pay by Wednesday, Feb. 10 in order to give us time to order the food and arrange enough child care. We do have limited space in the child care area, so get your space reserved soon. Register by mailing in your payment to 1118 S. Sara Road, Blanchard, OK, 73010 or drop it by the church office. You may call 387-2811 to make sure someone is available. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call. Ridgecrest is located four miles south of Hwy 37 on Sara Road.



Methodist Christian Life Center to host fellowship

You are invited the Methodist Christian Life Center in Minco for Fifth Sunday Fellowship at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 31. There will be a sing-along, skits and fun, with free food and goodies. Food will be served at 5:30, with fun to follow. For more information, call 352-4137.



Baseball Boosters to host dodge ball tournament

The Tuttle Baseball Booster Club is holding a dodge ball tournament on Saturday, Feb. 6 at the middle school gym in Tuttle. Sign in starts at 3 p.m. Teams of all ages are welcome to attend. Little League Baseball sign-ups scheduled

Little League Baseball signups will be held Saturday, Jan. 30 in the middle school gym lobby from 9 a.m. to noon. All new players need to bring a copy of their birth certificates. Masonic Lodge to

celebrate 100 years

On Saturday, Feb. 13, the Tuttle Masonic Lodge will celebrate its 100th anniversary at the Tuttle Senior Citizen's Center, starting at 1 p.m. with 150 people expected. There will be lots of finger foods and snacks.

 

History Club to

hold fundraiser

The Tuttle Middle School History Club is having a fundraiser dinner to raise money for a trip to Washington D.C. The dinner will be before the high school Tuttle vs. Kingfisher basketball game on Saturday, Jan. 30 from 5-7 p.m.  The meal, provided by Johnny Carino’s, will include baked penne / chicken fettuccine alfredo with salad, garlic bread, tea or lemonade and dessert.  Tickets are $10 and available from any TMS eighth grade club member. Varsity Football

Banquet set for Jan. 31

The Varsity Football Banquet for varsity football players and their families will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 31 in the elementary school cafeteria.



Dodge ball tournament set for Feb. 6

A dodgeball tournament is set for Saturday, Feb. 6, with registration at 3 p.m. Games begin immediately after Little Dribblers. There will be six to eight person teams and the cost is $10 per player. All ages are welcome. Contact Tommy Ebert 401-0643 to pre-register your team. Divisions will be formed after registration. Please wear court shoes.



Free tax help available

to Grady residents

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, or VITA, will offer free tax help to low- to moderate-income (generally, $49,000 and below) people who cannot prepare their own federal and Oklahoma tax returns. IRS certified volunteers, sponsored by various organizations, have been trained to help prepare basic tax returns in communities across the country. The VITA site in Grady County is Epworth United Methodist Church. located at 4th & Iowa in Chickasha. This site will open Jan. 29 and will run through April 15. Alzheimer’s group to meet on 3rd Tuesday

If you would like to learn more about Alzheimer's please join Barbara Hembree on the third Tuesday of every month to learn and discuss your questions about Alzheimer's. If you have any questions call Debbie McQuade or Barbara Hembree at 381-3363.



Prom and Pageant

Consignment auction set

Prom and pageant gowns, swim suits, shoes, cocktail dresses, earrings and accessories will be auctioned on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 40 Worley Creek Drive in Tuttle. Consignment check in begins at 9 a.m. and the auction starts at 3 p.m. Call 405-381-4527 for more information. There will be a 25 percent consignment fee that will benefit True Oak Fellowship Youth.



Adult Learning Center offers classes set

Free GED prep, adult basic education and family literacy classes are offered in Tuttle, Mustang and Newcastle. These classes are for adults who need to work on basic educational skills or prepare for their GED. In Tuttle, the classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday, 6-9 p.m. at the Tuttle High School; in Mustang, the classes meet on Monday 5:30 - 8 p.m. and Tuesday 12:30 - 3 p.m. at the Mustang Wild Horse Towne Center; and in Newcastle, the classes are held from 5:30 - 8 p.m. For more information, call 405-222-6562.



English as a second

language offered

An adult (16 years and older) based class for individuals whose first language is not English is held Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Mustang. Enroll in person for free class. Call 405-222-6562 for information.



Free GED Prep

“Distance Learning”

Open enrollment for the GED/Distance Learning can be made by contacting the Adult Learning Center, 628 W. Kansas, Chickasha. Students must have reliable internet access with email address, possess basic computer skills, maintain a working phone connection, pre and post-test taken at the ALC, work a minimum of six hours weekly, possess a high level of motivation, score a minimum of 8.0 TABE pre-assessment and 9.0 on reading pre--assessment.
