James Waggoner

James Linn Waggoner, 57, was born June 29, 1952. He went to be with the Lord on the morning of Friday Jan. 8, 2010, following a heroic battle with cancer.

Jimmy, “Wag” Waggoner was born and raised in Oklahoma City and married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Carla Harris on June 8, 1973, with whom he shared 36 devoted years of marriage.

Jimmy and Carla relocated to Tuttle in 1978. He served as an Oklahoma City firefighter for 27 years before retiring in June 2002 as a lieutenant and was an active member and Deacon at Emmaus Baptist Church.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his father Walter Waggoner, also a retired Oklahoma City firefighter.

He is survived by his loving wife Carla Waggoner, son Chris Waggoner and wife Erin, daughter Amy Taylor and husband Justin, and son Stephen Waggoner and wife Becca, his caring mother Jacqueline Waggoner, sisters, Janice Phillips and husband Gary, JoAnne Wolcott and husband Rick. He is the uncle to six nephews and three nieces.

Jimmy was an amazing Papa to five adoring grandchildren, Christina, Dylan, Abigail, Ashlee and Addyson, his “brothers and friends” the firefighters of Oklahoma City.

To all those who were lucky to have known him, Jimmy was a loving husband, devoted father and beloved “Papa” who will be greatly missed.

Services were held Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010 at Emmaus Baptist Church, 16001 S. Western.
